MEALS AT SOSC
SENIOR FARMERS MARKET PROGRAM)
- Nutritious meals are available to individuals age 60 and older and their spouses.
- Meals are served once a day around noon.
- Meals meet the needs of people who watch their diet because of heart disease or diabetes.
- Meals are provided free of charge but consumers may choose to give a contribution.
- Call the SOSC or stop in to see what the center has to offer you.
- SNAP is the new name for the Food Stamp program.
- Eligible seniors use these benefits to buy food which increases their purchasing power at grocery stores and supermarkets.
- Seniors participating in the SNAP program are also eligible for monthly food boxes
SENIOR FARMERS MARKET PROGRAM)
- This program provides low-income older adults with four checks to buy fresh farm food grown in Omaha.
- The age requirement is 60 years or older
- The senior must meet eligibility guidelines
- Each eligible senior may receive four $5.00 checks for a total benefit of $20.00 one time during the program year.
- Married couples are eligible to receive eight $5.00 checks for a total benefit of $40.00 one time during the program year.
